Ava at Three Months

Our little jitter bug turned three months on September 24!
Here is what she has been up to this month!
  • She still loves to talk and talks to everything she sees like the blanket behind her rocking chair and butterflies hanging above her bed.
  • She loves attention and yells at us when we aren't looking at her.
  • She gets jumpy at loud noices or when we talked all of sudden. Hence, the name jitter bug or "bug" for short.
  • She is always smiling especially when we are talking to her or making funny noises.
  • She has found her belly laugh as well as a pity laugh with one short "huh".
  • She loves bath time and kicks away at the water. She also loves the taste of the washcloth as we clean her gums.
  • She is always kicking her right leg and so we think she might go into soccer or something when she gets older so she can use the skills she is practicing now.
  • She likes to move and bite her tongue and makes it look like she has a mouth full of food.
  • She scratches her nails on things like pillows or her rocking chair.
  • She is starting to notice color and patterns and will grab our shirts when we are changing her to get a closer look.
  • She has a good grip and holds onto our hands really tight when she is getting her bottle.
  • She is starting to reach and play with toys.
  • She loves to watch tv and read books.
  • She is getting really good at tummy time and is starting to not whine as much!
  • She hates sleepers! We always have to make sure we have a clean binkie to pop in when we put the sleeper over her head and try to get her arms through.
  • She loves to sit on our laps and sit up. Although, that makes for a lot of drool! Also, without a doubt one hand in always nicely resting on her chubby thigh.
  • She chews on her fingers (especially her right index finger) and fist.
  • She is still losing a lot of her newborn hair and is killing the mullet look!
  • She has learned to self soothe and actually takes naps in her crib! Yippee!
  • She loves music! We listen to Disney music every morning while she plays and she especially lights up at "I see the light" song from Tangled.
  • She loves to stare at lights and will stare at her nightlight in her room at midnight feedings and fall back asleep.
